How it started

A relative latecomer to dance, Kim started at the age of 16 when a friend convinced her to attend a local dance and theatre school. To her surprise, she loved it! She then embarked on a steep learning curve and trained in as many dance styles as she could, before finally finding her love for street dance.

Kim has been teaching for many years and believes that first and foremost dance should be fun! She also backs this up with a great deal of knowledge in health and fitness, as well as injury prevention.

In 2011, Kim discovered locking after attending classes run by Fred ‘Realness’ Folkes, and fell in love with this funky, fun and creative style as well as the history, culture, and especially the music behind it. She also began taking classes in popping, and in 2014, waacking.

Through ‘The Realness’, Kim met Vitamin and Sparkx, and came to join Imperial Steps.

Kim has performed in many theatres and other venues, including in London’s West End, and has been lucky enough to travel the world and learn from many of the great street dance pioneers.
